Manohar Parikar was born on 13th December 1955 in Mapusa(Goa). His Father and Mother’s name is Mr. Utpal Parrikar and Smt. RAdhabai Parikar Respectively.

He married to Medha Parrikar and the couple was Sanctified with two sons but Unfortunately, His wife Died in the year 2000 by Cancer

Political Life Manohar Parikar

He Gave a kick Start to his Political Career as an MLA in the Goa Assembly in the year 1994 and soon he became the opposition leader in the Goa assembly in 1999 and Continued till 2002. Previously he was Chief Minister from 2000 to 2005 and from 2012 to 2014.  He was a member of the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh, but later resigned after the 2017 Goa Legislative Assembly election, in which he was appointed as Chief Minister of Goa. On 29 January 2005, his government was reduced to a minority in the Assembly after four BJP MLAs resigned from the House.

Parrikar was resisting to leave Goa and shift to Delhi in November 2014, by his own admission but was persuaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to join the central government.In November 2014, Parrikar was chosen as the Minister of Defence  replacing Arun Jaitley.
