Now only 30 – 40 minutes ago Yogi Adityanath the star campaigner of BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) has been selected as the next leader of Uttar Pradesh by our Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Dinesh Sharma and KP Maurya are likely to be appointed as deputy chief ministers. Yogi Adityanath is a Firebrand Hindutva Leader.
He has also been a member of Parliament from Gorakhpur Constituency, Uttar Pradesh for five consecutive terms since 1998. Adityanath is also the Mahant or Head priest of the Gorakhpur Mutt, a Hindu temple in Gorakhpur. He is also the founder of Hindu Yuva Vahini a social, cultural and nationalist group of youth who seek to provide rightist Hindu Platform.
The decision was made at Lok Bhawan by presence of Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu and national general secretary Bhupendra Yadav, BJP vice-president Om Mathur, state party chief Keshav Prasad Maurya and other senior party leaders
Up CM Aditya Nath’s name was proposed by BJP leader Suresh Khanna and was supported by Union Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu.

Adityanath Political Career
Adityanath has completed his Graduation degree in Mathematics from H.N.B. Garhwal University, Srinagar (Garhwal), Uttarakhand and Adityanath was the youngest member of the 12th Lok Sabha at 26. He has been elected as an MP from Gorakhpur to the Lok Sabha in 1998, 1999, 2004, 2009 and 2014 elections

In January 2007, there was an altercation amidst a Hindu group and Muslims in which Aditya Nath disobeyed the magistrate and travelled to the site with a group of his followers. He started a non-violent dharna on the site and was also imprisoned under Section 151A, Sections 146, 147, 279, 506 of the Indian Penal Code
